After installing Mageplaza Digital Download, you need to create your digital product and set up how to deliver download links to your customers after purchase. Here’s how to do it.

In Mageplaza Digital Download, access Digital products page > Click Add new digital product button.

Step 1: Select your product

1. In the “Select your product” section, click the “Select product” button
2. A modal with all your Shopify products and variants will appear
3. Select either an entire product (including all variants) or a specific variant you want
4. Click “Confirm” to select the product

Note: If you select a product that is already a digital product in the app, you’ll see a notification. You need to either edit the existing product or choose another product.

Step 2: Add files

A file attached to a digital product in Shopify is a digital item that customers can download after purchasing the product. This could be anything from an MP3, a PDF, a video, or any other type of digital content (In this version we’ll support every file type and unlimited files attached). When you use the Digital Downloads app, you can upload these files to your products, allowing customers to receive a download link upon purchase. This is particularly useful for selling digital goods like e-books, music, or software.

Choose what your product contains from the dropdown menu:

• Digital file
• Link
• Digital file + Link

1.1 For Digital Files:

• Click “Upload your file” button to upload files from your computer or drag and drop files directly into the upload area
• Alternatively, click “Select existing” to choose from files you’ve already uploaded

Important: Maximum storage capacity is 500MB per account. The system will display a progress percentage during upload and show appropriate error messages if the upload fails.

1.2 For Links:

• Enter the URL in the “Link” field
• Enter a name for the link in the “Link name” field
• Click “Add more link” button to add additional links

Note: Links must begin with “http://” or “https://”. You’ll see a live preview of your link below the input fields.

1.3 For Digital File + Link:

• Follow both processes above to add both types of content
• You can rearrange the order of files and links by dragging them
• To remove a file or link, click the delete icon next to it

Step 3: Configure Download Settings

1. Set download limits (optional):
   • Limit number of downloads in time:
   • Select the checkbox to enable this limit
   • Enter a positive integer value
   • Choose the time unit: Hours, Days, Weeks, or Months
   • Limit number of downloads per order:
   • Select the checkbox to enable this limit
   • Enter a positive integer value (default is 1) Note: If you don’t set any limits, customers will have unlimited downloads.

Preview your digital product:

• Click “Preview” to see how your Download email and Thank you page will appear to customers
• Note that the order of files reflects the arrangement in your settings
• The preview shown is for demonstration purposes. You can customize your email template in the Settings menu.

Save settings:

• Click “Save” to create your digital product

And that’s it! You have now completed creating your digital product with our application.
