Once you have done creating and setting up your digital product, it’s important to learn how to manage them. We will guide you on how to view and manage all your digital products in one place.
Go to Mageplaza Digital Download > Digital products to manage all your digital products.
Viewing Your Digital Products
If you haven’t created any digital products yet, you’ll see the digital product management screen in default mode with the Add new digital product button.
If you already have at least 1 digital product you’ll see a grid listing all your digital products with the following information:
- Digital product information
- Number of variants (if applicable)
- Total file size
- Last update
- Action: Edit or Delete digital product
Edit: Editing a Digital product
- Click on a product name or the “Edit” icon (icon will appear when hovering over a product) to open the edit page
- Make your changes to the product’s files, links, or download settings
- Click “Save” to update the product
Delete: Deleting a digital product
- Hover over a product and click the “Delete” icon
- A confirmation popup will appear
- Click “Delete” to confirm or “Cancel” to abort
Important: When you delete a digital product from the app:
- For products that haven’t been delivered to customers: No impact on customers
- For products that have been delivered to customers: Customers will no longer be able to access their download links. They’ll see a message indicating the product information has been updated.
Add digital product: Creating a new digital product
Click the button to create a new digital product.
How to manage files?
A file attached to a digital product in Shopify is a digital item that customers can download after purchasing the product. This could be anything from an MP3, a PDF, a video, or any other type of digital content (In this version we’ll support every file type and unlimited files attached). When you use the Digital Downloads app, you can upload these files to your products, allowing customers to receive a download link upon purchase. This is particularly useful for selling digital goods like e-books, music, or software.
Viewing your files:
The Files menu allows you to manage all your digital files in one place, regardless of which products they’re attached to.
If you haven’t created any files yet, you’ll see the files management screen in default mode with the Upload your file button.
If you already have at least 1 file you’ll see a grid listing all your file with the following information: File name, File type, Size, Uploaded at, Attached to, and action icons like Download, Add to product, Delete
Upload your file: Uploading your new files
- Click “Upload your file” button to upload files from your computer or drag and drop files directly into the upload area Important: Maximum storage capacity is 500MB per account. The system will display a progress percentage during upload and show appropriate error messages if the upload fails.
File Actions
When you hover on a line of file, you will see these action icons: Download, Add to product, Delete
- Download: Download the file to your computer
- Delete: Remove the file from all digital products it’s attached to
Important: When you delete the file:
- The selected files will be permanently deleted from the products they are attached to and will also permanently delete the digital products if the selected files are the only attached files.
- Please note: The customers can’t download the file(s) from old orders anymore (if they exist) and this action can’t be undone.
- Add to product: This feature allows you to attach a selected file to any product. When you click the icon: A list of Shopify products will appear. You can select a product to create a new digital product with this file
Please note: If the selected product is already a digital product, you’ll be taken to the edit page with this file added
